Our Newest Addition

My last Doctors appointment was on Tuesday April 5th. At the appointment we discussed being induced due to my Doctor having the weekend off and I was dilated to a 2 and about 80% effaced. I knew I wasn't going to make it until monday when she was scheduled to work again other wise I wouldn't even have considered it.  So we decided on thursday the 7th in the afternoon.  Come thursday morning I woke up having contractions and thought to myself (it's a good thing I'm going in today).  They were about 3 minutes apart and were pretty intence. I was to call the Hospital at 9am to make sure there was a room available. When I called they didn't have one right then, but they said to call in around 1pm because they had a few discharges that they had to do. I was supposed to go in at noon, so that kind of through off my groove, but by that time my contractions at let up a little so I wasn't so uncomfortable. I called Ben at about 11 ( he was at work ) and told him that he needed to come home earlier than planned because I was already in labor. He got home around 12:30, we got everything in the car ready to go and when I called at 1:00 they said they had my room all ready and to come on in. We actually didn't get there until about 3:00pm because we went and ate first and had a couple other things to take care of first. When we got there I was dilated between a 3 and 4 and about 90% effaced, so we knew it wouldn't have been long before he would have come on his own. It was 4:00pm by the time I finally got going on the PIT, but my contractions at already picked back up when we got to the Hospital. I tried to rest some but the contractions were already to much for that.  At about 8:00pm they checked me again because my contractions were about 1 1/2 minutes apart. I was at a 6, so they didn't up my PIT anymore (it was at 6) and they gave me something for the pain thru the IV, but it didn't work at all. She checked me again at 9:00 and I was at an 8, so she called my Doc. and she headed over. She got there at 10:00 right as they were giving me the epidural. When they were finished, she checked me and I was at a 9, so she broke my water and said she would check back in half an hour. she came back at 10:20, when she went to check me, baby's head was already coming out.  I pushed 3 times thru 1 contraction and @ 10:25pm Korben Thayn Altmiller was here!
