Well I was waiting to do this post until I got the pictures off my new camera, but I still haven't done it and I wanted to get these on here. We had our 29th week check-up last monday and everything went great! It was my first appointment with my new Doctor (Doctor Mudge). And can I just say that I absolutely love her? She's a great Doctor and so happy all the time! I had to switch to a Doctor instead of the CNM because of my Placenta Previa and I was so nervous about it. I didn't want to have to switch because I loved my CNM and I was more comfortable with one than a Doctor. But, I definitely think that this Doctor is my favorite out of all the midwifes and Doctors I've been to. She's wonderful! I had to have my Glucose screening the same day and I went in before my appointment so that I could drink the stuff and then get back down there and have my blood drawn shortly after my appointment so that I didn't have to make another trip to the doctors for that or spend all day there. Well, when I got there to do it they had the wrong order form, so needless to say I was late for my appointment, and had to have the Doctor resend the right ordor form. Well, by the time I got back down to the Lab to drink the nasty stuff I didn't have time to drink it and get back before they closed, so they sent my order form next door where I had to be for a back adjustment in an hour anyway. I drank the stuff, got thru my appointment, and then waited around for about 20 minutes before I could check-in. When I was getting checked in the lady told me that they had to make a phone call because they usually don't do that kind of testing there so they didn't know if they could do it. Great...I had to drink that nasty stuff for nothing? Anyways, after a few minutes they got the approval to do it and they got me back there just in time. They got the blood for the Glucose in time but then my vein decided to stop bleeding, so she poked me again, and of course that one was being stubborn too. She was twisting, turning, pulling, pushing, and even got a syringe to try and suck it out. Nothing was working and it freaking hurt like crazy! So the other lady came in to see if she could get it, ( there was a couple other test they had to run also, hence the need for more blood) she felt around for about 10 minutes before she found one that she thought would work pretty good, but of course she poked it and...nothing....not a drop came out and again, she twisted, turned, pulled, and pushed and still nothing. So she pulled it out and one tiny little drop came out...grrrr! She finally found a good one in the top of my left hand and poked it, and yes, it did great and got them the blood they needed. By the time they were done I was aching pretty bad. It's supposed to take... oh about two minutes... you walk back there get poked once, they get the blood, and your done...but oh no, not me, I was in that chair for 25 minutes! They informed me that veins are supposed to feel like a marshmallow, you push it and it should squish in and puff back up...well, mine feel like cartilage and are tiny, which would explain why it has always hurt so much and why they never get it in one poke. Everyone always told me I was just being a whimp...haa well, i'm not a whimp and I have Lab technicians who will tell you so. When I FINALLY got to walk out of the Lab, Ben looked at me as wide eyed as I have ever seen him, but with both elbows and one hand wrapped in gauze and tape i couldn't blame him. I should have walked out of there with one little bandaid on one arm. So, what should have been, at the most, an hour and a half at one building turned out to be 5 hours at two buildings. All this time Ben had to sit and wait with Kyzer. I felt so bad but Kyzer did great and Ben was very patient with everything! Out of 4 pretty nasty pokes I only ended up with one bruise this time, but it was pretty nasty and sore for days. It has been a week and a half and I still have a very visible bruise and it's still a little sore but nothing like it was, which I am very happy about!
Later that week I had another Ultrasound to check the position of the Placenta. I went in there completely expecting that nothing had changed. I had heard from ultrasound techs., my midwife, and several other people that when it's that bad theres really no chance of it moving, and thats what I expected. Well....IT MOVED! I still don't know exactly how much yet, but it did move and I will update on that when I talk to my Doctor at my appointment this coming monday. I still don't know if it's enough to not have a c-section, but from the sound of things it doesn't have to move much because if it's already partly out of the way, when the baby comes down it will continue to push it back up and out of the way. We are continuing to pray that things just go smoothly regardless of how we have to do this.
So, on top of all this baby stuff, we have been needing to redo a bunch of the drywall in our house to make it more presentable to sell. I've been nesting and things have been bugging me more and more lately, so I decided that I wanted to get the living room and kitchen done before baby comes. Ben has been greatly supportive and he jumped right on it. Last saturday he tore everything apart and got everything masked off and sanded and the window seal in our kitchen torn out (when he was sanding and scraping he noticed it was pretty bad) to redo. He's been working on it every night since and he's doing a great job! He should have the first coat done tonight and then come tomorrow the real messy part begins...sanding the mud is yucky stuff, but I am ready to have it looking nice and to do that, I have to endure the mess. I have been taking pictures so when i get the right cord boughten I will get pictures on here of our progress!
On another note... My Grandpa Hardman had a heart attack on monday and he is undergoing triple bypass surgery today. He had one completely clogged artery and two partially clogged arteries. They said they don't know how he is even still alive. But the Doctor said that he has very strong heart muscles and that surgery should go great and he would heal quickly! We Love you Grandpa & Grandma! Stay strong and we will see you soon!
So anyways, theres our update and here are the ultrasound pictures.
The 3D pictures are a little hard to understand at first, but once you get it you can't miss it!
